New exhibition at the Green Hill Gallery - "Ein Wilder Sommer" 10.09 - 23.09

Green Hill Gallery is glad to announce to "Ein Wilder Sommer", an exhibition of the two collaborating artists Erold Sommer and Pascal Wild.

Ein wilder Sommer” revolves around friendship and its creative nature depicted on canvas.

Whereas bringing people together after a long time of being lonesome was the original idea, Erold Sommer and Pascal Wild conveyed that message intuitively on the canvas as well.

Both artists present their individual works that have been predominantly created in 2021, during times of social distancing and self-isolation.

Furthermore, the exhibiting artists engaged in collaborations while sharing and reflecting on their creative processes. Hence, an artistic safe space was created to overcome vulnerabilities. A creative Endeavour in which artistic egos are challenged and set aside.

What has started as a daily art challenge with a coworker to overcome the daily struggles of working from home, became Erold Sommer´s first set of paintings, Ciary. The task was to create a small sketch according to ‘the word of the day’, snapshots in times of self-isolation.

In his very own form of a corona diary, Erold Sommer provides a medium to reflect on himself and therefore on the relation to the art that he has been working on during the last year. Small sketches made out of chalk were turned into multilayered oversized mixed media artworks - a manifest of resilience.

Pascal Wild ´s artworks revolve around the question of identity in a rapidly changing social environment. Consequently, the artist strongly questions male ideals, especially in sports, the overrated meaning of zodiac signs when dating and basically everything that is rather separating us from each other, than bringing us closer together.
