  • Kulturschoepfer Grünberger Straße 13 10243 Berlin Germany (map)

Ukrainian cuisine is a different kind of art, a unique way of making food, experience, and tradition, the quintessence of Ukrainian culture. We want to invite you to the Green Hill Gallery for a Ukrainian dinner which will take place on Friday evening among the works of selected Ukrainian authors.

About the Ukrainian cuisine:

Many features of Ukrainian cuisine were formed based on the living style of Ukrainians, the vast majority of whom earned for living from the hard agricultural work. People had to eat hearty caloric food to keep up with such grueling work. That is why Ukrainian cuisine is characterized by dishes rich in proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. At the same time, the national character demanded food be tasty. So for most Ukrainian dishes, a diverse set of ingredients is noticeable (yes, there are up to 20 of them in Ukrainian borsch), as well as a combination of several methods of ingredients cooking and preparation. Due to historical features, each of the ethnographic regions of Ukraine has its peculiarities of cuisine.

We will present you with the main "stars" of Ukrainian cuisine during the dinner.

It will be a warm, homelike evening accompanied by conversations about art.
