Ukrainian folk song is the soul of the people. Anciently, it has been filled with strength, beauty, emotional expressiveness, and sincere feelings. The song accompanied a person on everyday routine and holidays, helped in the hour of sorrow and grief, and cheered the soul on the bright days of happiness. The whole ritual year of the Ukrainian was based on songs - to bring out Christmas carols and spring songs, bathing and wedding songs, mourning for the dead, and singing lullabies.
During the master class, we will explain and show the main features of Ukrainian singing, and each of us will try to sing a Ukrainian song. It's not difficult at all and very interesting! We invite you to the master class if you are interested in music and traditional art! It is not necessary to have professional musical knowledge.
The master class is conducted by Ana Karina, a Ukrainian indie artist from Kyiv who has recently been living in Berlin. Ana Karina has been engaged in academic vocals for 15 years, and five have taught vocals and piano. She has been writing her songs for five years. Ana Karina will enchant Ukrainian songs and folklore and lead to the use of Ukrainian folklore techniques in modern singing.
The number of places is limited to 15 participants. Registration is required.
